The Fashion Bible OOTD at Shakedown Festival

Hey guys,

So Saturday was the big day, and by that I don’t mean my wedding day (sadly) but Brighton’s best Student Summer event- Shakedown Festival. Now as a little pre warning I did have a major panic attack and had to leave the festival early BUT I did get lots of snaps, enjoyed the sun and especially loved my lacy two piece from The Fashion Bible. If you are looking for a bargain festival outfit that is already complete then I couldn’t recommend this highly enough- it’s £24.99 here and is one of the comfiest choices you could make. It’s stylish and looks great with knee high boots and socks, and yet has the practicality for a festival. I hate wearing denim shorts that practically floss and these shorts come down at a nice length with the pretty crochet detail. Definitely an outfit I will be wearing throughout Summer.

We left Worthing at 9.30am via National Express coach and arrived at Old Steine Brighton for 10. As soon as we unloaded and left the coach nostalgia and a lump in my throat developed; I really missed my true home. However seeing as we were super early as the free shuttle service didn’t start until 11am to reach the festival for a 12am start we decided to hit the library and forget my woes before loading onto the bus to Waterhall after a thorough alcohol and drug search. When we arrived, despite the cloud overshadowing the park a sauna like heatwave blitzed the crowd as we waited to enter the festival and despite the bipolar weather for the day the heat and sun still remained like a trooper. We were greeted with fun fair rides, face painting, hair braiding and of course I picked up the £5 mandatory set list lanyard, who doesn’t?Blog 7

The bag checks were long and thorough and the £8 average bill for a small lunch, alongside £4.50 per pint made my stomach churn but I couldn’t resist the aromas that were filling the pitch. The festival started slow and steady as we arrived so early but as two o clock hit in time for Wilkinson’s set in the Supercharge arena the place was quickly getting packed. There were bumbags, tiny shorts and wellies galore- just enough festival vibes and style inspiration.

The event was definitely a lot more organised than the previous years with the stewards and police being jokey and friendly, a huge contrast to unnecessary aggression and violence (oh yes my friends). The shuttle service was also timely, it had frequent services ferrying you to the event from Brighton, however it was a long walk from the coach to the festival and their weren’t any shuttles back until 8pm. I suppose considering once you left the festival you were out (no readmission allowed) then it didn’t matter. There were a lot more toilets that were well maintained so that I could go quickly and easily, and Waterhall seemed like a much better location than Stanmer Park.
